Natural eating for infants

The U.S. Surgeon General has issued a report encouraging mothers to increase breast-feeding and calling on the nation to remove barriers to this essential natural health practice. The new U.S. recommendation of at least six months of breast-feeding is consistent with World Health Organization guidelines. Though the optimal length of breast-feeding is the subject of ongoing research, numerous studies have shown that breast-feeding helps to develop immune system functioning in babies and protect them from diarrhea, ear infection and pneumonia. Some studies have even linked breast-feeding to higher IQs.
